Synopsys
As a child Rafael experiences the separation of his parents, which strongly shapes him.
In an attempt to process his feelings, depicted as color areas and different stroke styles, we finally see him as an adult in loving contact with his own child.

Biography
Jueli and Paula have been studying film at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg since September 2020. They study editing and documentary film respectively. In their first year of study, they created the experimental animated film "Dein Kind" (Your Child) within 1 month. It is their first animation production in which they visualize the emotional processing of a divorce from the perspective of a child.

Director's notes
We cannot change the fact that our childhood influences us, but we no longer need to be subject to predestination as adults. We can try to break out of the negative spiral ourselves. With the confidence that everything passes by - the good as well as the bad - we let the protagonist endure his fears in the visual space in order to gain new courage.
